Methods of Payment
New York University offers several convenient methods for you to pay your tuition and fees.
You can:
- Enroll in a payment plan
- Pay by electronic, personal, or bank check
- International Payments (non-USD account)
- Pay through outside scholarships and 529 Plans
- Apply for Financial Aid
- Explore other ways to pay
Please note New York University does not accept payment by credit card.
Payment Plans
New York University offers several payment plans created to suit your needs.
Electronic, Personal, or Bank Checks
You can pay your tuition in full by electronic, personal, or bank check. You can also use these methods to make a payment to your payment plan.
If you plan to pay by electronic check, you can set up payments through eSuite. The amount due will then be taken directly from your personal checking account and applied to your student account immediately.

If you are paying with a personal or bank check, please write your student ID number on the check and mail to:

Please note:
- Payment by eCheck and personal or bank check is accepted from U.S. financial institutions only.
- Postdated checks will not be accepted.
- If a check is returned, you will be charged a $20 returned check fee and a $25 late payment fee. You will also be prevented from using paper and electronic personal checks for future payment.
- Parents and authorized payers must be invited to create an eSuite account to make a payment.
- Payments made that exceed $10,000 over the account balance due will be applied to a future semester. Please contact our office before you initiate a payment if you have any additional questions about our policies or procedures.
Outside Scholarships and 529 Plans
If you will be paying for your tuition with outside scholarships or 529 plans, you should ask the plan provider or scholarship organization to send a check made payable to New York University to:

Please ask the plan provider or scholarship organization to include your name and NYU ID# with the payment.
Apply for Financial Aid
To pay for their education, most students and families combine funding types such as scholarships, grants, loans, and savings. NYU's Office of Financial Aid can help you coordinate these various options.
