On September 25th, 2016, William R. Berkley, Chair of the NYU Board of Trustees, presided over the ceremony inaugurating Andrew D. Hamilton as NYU’s 16th president. Hamilton emphasized the importance of putting academic considerations at the forefront of all NYU does, and he outlined several key priorities: making investments in the sciences; making Brooklyn a hub for efforts in technology; addressing affordability; and embracing diversity.
