OAPRA's Mission

The Office of Academic Program Review & Assessment (OAPRA) partners with colleagues across the university to spur academic innovation, foster academic excellence, and prioritize student success. Through our expertise in institutional accreditation, academic authorization, and program assessment, we generate strategic pathways to achieve NYU's academic goals.

  • Serving as NYU's liaisons to key federal, state and regional agencies for university-wide accreditation, academic authorization, and program assessment; 
  • Collaborating with schools, global campuses, and administrative units to introduce innovative new programs throughout the world and across all disciplines; 
  • Partnering with university and school leaders to develop and maintain effective systems of academic program review and governance;
  • Employing our expertise in accreditation, authorization, and assessment to prioritize student flourishing and academic excellence in academic program design; 
  • Providing evidence-based, expert guidance to drive and support continuous review and improvement of existing academic programs.

  • We provide timely, organized, and accessible information to university partners about changes in the accreditation and regulatory landscape that may impact NYU operations. 
  • We partner with schools and other university units to ensure students have timely, accurate, and accessible information about their programs of study, from application through graduation.
