Maximum term unit load exceeded. | Adding more classes to your courseload would push you over the maximum credit limit (the maximum number of credits you can enroll in) for the term. The standard maximum credit limit for most undergraduate students is 18 credits per term. For graduate students, the maximum varies by program. | Possible solutions include dropping a class, swapping courses, or requesting permission to go over the maximum credit limit (contact your advisor for more information). |

- The student should have their previous school(s) send NYU the final/official documents to the admissions office as soon as possible.
- Undergraduates admitted since Fall 2020 who attended international schools must have transcripts, national exam results, and graduation documents from schools outside of the United States sent to NYU's partner, ECE, for authentication.
- If the student believes their document(s) should have been received by NYU, they should contact Undergraduate Admissions, SPS DAUS Admissions, or the appropriate graduate admissions office.
Undergraduate students: Required credentials
- Official High School Transcript: A final, official high school transcript must be sent directly to NYU by a school official and must bear an official stamp.
- Second bachelor's degree: Students must submit their final, official transcript from their previous bachelor's degree program instead of their high school transcript.

International Baccalaureate transcripts and scores
If the student has completed the International Baccalaureate program, they should submit their final transcript/scores electronically from the International Baccalaureate Organization to NYU.
A-Level exam certificates
If the student has completed A-Level exams, their final, original certificates should be emailed from their previous school and from an official school official's email address to admissions.ops@nyu.edu or mailed directly from their school to NYU's Undergraduate Admissions office.
Graduate and Professional Studies: Required credentials
- Official college transcript: A final, official transcript that notes the degree awarded and graduation date is required of all graduate and professional students. If the transcript does not contain that information, the student will be asked for the diploma/graduation certificate as a supplement.
- Some graduate and professional schools have specific documentation requirements. Students should contact their school's admissions office for further information.
