Chapters at NYU

This list features fraternities and sororities that are currently active and affiliated with the University, as well as some groups that used to be in good standing but are no longer recognized by NYU. All chapters that are active and in good standing are fully operating and engaging with its members and the NYU community.

Please check the Status column below for each organization. NYU only recognizes groups on campus with an Active status; only active groups are in good standing with the university and have full student organization rights and privileges — including the right to recruit eligible undergraduates. Inactive status means groups are in good standing with the university but no longer operate at the institution.

However, groups that show a Suspended status are not allowed to recruit, host events, or claim an official affiliation with the University in any way. The status of organizations is subject to change throughout the year due to violations of our policies. Please see more information on suspended groups.
