This list features fraternities and sororities that are currently active and affiliated with NYU.

NYU only recognizes fraternities and sororities that are listed below. Only these organizations are in good standing with the university and have full student organization rights and privileges — including the right to recruit eligible undergraduates

Fraternities and sororities that are suspended are not allowed to recruit, host events, or claim an official affiliation with the University in any way. The status of organizations is subject to change throughout the year due to violations of our policies. Please see more information on suspended groups.


Councils

Fraternities and Sororities at NYU are grouped into three governing councils:

The Interfraternity Council (IFC) is composed of North American Interfraternity Conference fraternities. There are 7 fraternities on this council. The IFC Executive Board oversees recruitment, community engagement, and the vision of the IFC at NYU. Feel free to reach out to IFC at ifc@nyu.edu with any questions.

The Multicultural Greek Council (MGC) is made up of culturally based fraternities and sororities. MGC includes organizations from the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC)National Association of Latino Fraternal Organizations (NALFO), and The National Asian Pacific Islander Desi American Panhellenic Association (NAPA). MGC aims to create opportunties for students to explore their cultural identities within FSL. Want to learn more? Email the MGC Executive Board at mgc@nyu.edu.

The Panhellenic Council (Panhel, Panhellenic, or CPH), oversees the 7 National Panhellenic Conference sororities. The Panhellenic Executive Board oversees recruitment, expansion, and promotes the sorority experience at NYU. Contact Panhel at panhellenic@nyu.edu.
