NYU Wins Two Oscars at the 2026 Academy Awards

The awards for Best Original Song and Best Sound went to two Tisch alum and their collaborators during a star-studded ceremony March 15 in Los Angeles

“Golden,” the hit song from the Netflix animated movie Kpop Demon Hunters, continued its award season success by winning an Academy Award for Best Original Song for EJAE (Tisch ‘14).

Tisch's EJAE and Audrey Nuna were among the "Golden" team to make history last month when the single  became the first K-Pop song to win a Grammy Award.

Gwendowlyn Yates Whittle (Tisch ‘84) and four collaborators won Best Sound for their work on the high-octane racing movie, F1.

The Tisch alumni were among the ten members of the NYU community who received 13 nominations for the 2026 Academy Awards, held March 15 at the the Dolby Theater at Ovation Hollywood in Los Angeles. NYU community members earned nominations for Best Picture, acting, directing and writing awards.
