OGS work hours are Monday - Friday, 9 AM - 5 PM ET.

There are three ways in which you can speak with an OGS international student advisor: through email, via Zoom advising, or by in-person advising. If you need a travel signature, you can simply request one online by completing our Document Release Form. We encourage students to use our online services whenever possible in order to reduce congestion at our offices.

Are you instead looking for visa help for an NYU site outside of the US? Contact an outbound immigration advisor.

Are you an international scholar (faculty, researcher, or J-1 student intern? Contact scholar services instead.

Once you fill out the form, we'll respond to you by email within 5 business days.

Book a Zoom Advising Appointment

Please note that this service is intended for newly admitted and currently enrolled NYU students in addition to NYU alumni. If you are a prospective student, please review NYU admissions information. If you are an NYU staff or faculty member, please send us an email.

Book an In-Person Advising Appointment

Students* are required to book an appointment online to meet with an OGS advisor in order to ensure reduced congestion in our offices.

Simply click the link for the office you'd like to visit. You will be asked a few questions, and then select OGS F1/J1 Visa Holder Appointments when asked which area you would like to get in line for. Even if you don't yet have F1/J1 status, this will be the queue for you if you are a noncitizen needing immigration guidance in the US. You'll then be able to select a date and time that works best for you.

NOTE: While in our offices, all visitors are required to comply with NYU's health protocols.

* Due to current NYU guidelines, we are only able to allow current students who have met building access protocols into our offices. Alumni, parents, or family members who wish to discuss questions or concerns require a valid Consent to Disclose Student Information form on file from the student and should book a Zoom advising appointment or send us an email.
