Consent to Disclose Student Information (FERPA)
The FERPA form is used to grant or revoke access to your student information. You can grant or revoke access to your records at any time.
If you grant a person access to speak with us about your records or ask them to pick up forms for you, they must provide a photo ID.
Third parties picking up documents for you may require an additional form. These include:
- A Transcript Request form in addition to the FERPA to pick up a transcript
- An Enrollment Verification Request form in addition to the FERPA to pick up an enrollment verification letter.
Drop/Add
If you want to change your class lineup during the semester's drop/add period you can do so through NYU Albert. However, if you cannot complete this through that portal, you can download the Drop/Add form.
Please note:
- The paper drop/add form is only for transactions that cannot be process via Albert for exceptional reasons.
- You must have your advisor and/or department sign the form. Forms without the required signatures will not be accepted.
- Completed forms must be delivered to the Manhattan or Brooklyn StudentLink Centers.

Change Your Student Information
You may need to your student information, including your name or social security number, at some point during or after your time at New York University.
Submit a Class or Term Withdrawal Request or Take a Leave of Absence
If the add/drop period has ended, you will have to officially withdraw from a class. Add/drop periods are different according to the school and department where the class is based.
To withdraw and receive a W grade from eligible classes, you must use the Class Withdrawal Request process in NYU Albert.
If you need to withdraw from a term during your time at NYU, withdraw completely, or take a leave of absence, you can do so by submitting the Leaves and Withdrawals form on NYU Albert.
Manage Guest Users on Albert Mobile
You can create and manage guest users through the Albert Mobile website. The website is accessible from desktop and portable devices.
Authorized users can access the following information from your NYU Albert records:
- Account Activity (view only)
- Advisor Information (view only)
- Class Schedule (view only)
- Contact Information (view and update)
- Emergency Contacts (view and update)
- Exam Schedule
- Financial Aid (view only)
- Grades (view only)
- Graduation Status (view only)
- Holds (view only)
- Shopping Cart (view only)
- To Dos (view only)
- Unofficial Transcript (view only)
- View/Pay What I Owe (without access to eSuite)
Please note: Access to view tuition and housing bills and make payments if managed separately within eSuite.
Apply for a Minor
You can apply for a minor through NYU Albert using the link in the Academics section.
Your home school and the minor school, in the case of cross-school minors, will review your application. If your minor is approved, it will appear on your transcript.
Applying for Minors Across Schools
Cross-school minors allow you to develop a specialization in a field offered at an NYU school other than your home school. You can find a complete list of minors and department contacts on the Cross-School Minors website.
You can apply for a cross-school minor through the application form if you are enrolled at one of the following schools:
- College of Arts and Science
- College of Nursing
- Gallatin School of Individualized Study
- School of Professional Studies
- Leonard N. Stern School of Business
- Liberal Studies Program
- Silver School of Social Work
- Steinhardt School of Culture, Education & Human Development
- Tandon School of Engineering
- Tisch School of the Arts
Requesting a Minor Within Your Own School
If you are enrolled in one of the undergraduate schools listed below, you can apply for an in-school minor through the application form found in NYU Albert:
- Leonard N. Stern School of Business
- Steinhardt School of Culture, Education & Human Development
- Tandon School of Engineering
- Tisch School of the Arts
Removing a Minor From Your Academic Record
You can request the removal of a minor from your academic record through the application form found in NYU Albert if you are enrolled in the following undergraduate schools:
- College of Arts and Science
- College of Nursing
- Leonard N. Stern School of Business
- School of Professional Studies - Tisch Center/Tisch Institute
- Steinhardt School of Culture, Education and Human Development
- Tandon School of Engineering
- Tisch School of the Arts
- Other schools: If you decide that you no longer wish to pursue a minor, you must contact your Advising Office to have it removed from your record
Please note:
- Fulfilling the requirements to satisfy your major is your responsibility. Contact the department offering the minor with any questions.
- Be sure to submit the minor application before you apply for graduation so that, if needed, a confirmation of minor completion can be sent in time to meet graduation deadlines.
- If you are an internal transfer or liberal studies transfer student any minors you declared in your previous program will not carry over to your new program. You must re-declare your minor, if you are eligible to do so, after consulting with an advisor from your new program.
Request Access to Student Information for Administrators
As a university employee, you can request access to the following types of student accounts:
- Albert SIS
- Reporting (UDW+)
- Academic Memo Management (AMM)
- NYU Connect
Only those authorized to approve account requests for your school or department can submit an account request.
Authorized requestors can submit a request by using the Student Information Systems Account Request form.
