We offer very limited Residential Life Assistant (RLA) roles in the academic year that support our housing operation and residents. Residential Life Assistant

Role: The Residential Life Assistant (RLA) is a paraprofessional who lives in an NYU residence hall serving as an administrative and community development support to professional staff. The RLA is an integral member of the NYU Residential Life & Housing Services team who must possess good judgment, a strong sense of responsibility and a thorough understanding of the requirements of operating a full service-residence hall program.

Supervision: The RLA reports to the Residence Hall Director (RHD). 

Commitment: The RLA role is 25 hours per week.

Number of roles: We have 8 Residential Life Assistants on campus.

Mid March, 2023 The Steinhardt Higher Education Student Affairs (HESA) masters program hosts an on-campus recruitment day for incoming graduate students. Students entering that program are preferenced for RLA roles and must participate in the recruitment day to be considered.
Rolling Basis We collect resumes from graduate students entering programs other than the Steinhardt Higher Education Student Affairs (HESA) masters program on a rolling basis. We review these resumes in the event we are unable to fill open RLA roles with HESA students. For consideration please submit your resume here.
