About Sixth Street
Sixth Street is a newly acquired facility for the 2023-2024 academic year. Located in the heart of the East Village, one of the city’s most vibrant neighborhoods, Sixth Street is a modern residence hall that offers easy access to Washington Square. The building offers a range of bedrooms in 2-3 bedroom apartments across 12 floors. Each apartment has its own bathroom and kitchenette. On the lower level, residents will find a large lounge, a study room, a bike room, and a small gym facility.
In an effort to provide a better experience, NYU has reduced the capacity of the building, so some residents may find some extra furniture in their room upon arrival. For example, two students assigned to a double room may find three sets of furniture. While the extra set must remain in the room, residents of a room designated as a double room can be assured that a third person will not be assigned to the space just because of the extra furnture.
