About Lipton Hall

Lipton Hall is a thriving, social community that houses approximately 700 first-year students. Its proximity to Washington Square Park allows for easy access to classes, the library, the Kimmel Center, subways, and all that Greenwich Village has to offer. The Lipton Team consists of two live-in professional staff members (Residence Hall Director and Residence Hall Assistant Director), one Residence Hall Resource Manager, 15 Resident Assistants, and 1 Resource Center Assistant to help you connect to NYU, your classmates, and many of the great experiences this university and city have to offer. Lipton is also home to two Faculty Fellows-in-Residence who plan programs and events to meet and regularly engage with residents. Additionally, we have 3 Explorations floors within Lipton this year: the NYU Show, Vivir en Español , and L’Étage Français. Each Explorations community has its own Faculty Affiliate who works closely with the floor. And, of course, we have our student government, L.E.G.O, which is responsible for organizing events throughout the year specifically for Lipton Hall residents! L.E.G.O. hosts a talent show, Halloween party, Super Bowl party, Broadway show outings, as well as advocate for hall improvements and act as liaisons to other residence hall governments.

Lipton’s amenities include wi-fi throughout the building, a large common room with a community kitchen, a game room, dance and music practice rooms, and multiple group and quiet study spaces. Lastly, the Lipton Dining Hall, located on the main level of the building, is certified Halal and supports sustainable and healthy eating initiatives.
