Study Away Health Services
NYU offers unparalleled opportunities for students to expand their education and explore the world by studying away at an NYU global site. The Student Health Center is here to enhance your wellbeing in support of your learning and success. At the heart of it, we are here to help you feel your best so you can do your best — before you depart and after you arrive.
Before You Depart
Have a Travel Medicine Consultation
A travel medicine consultation is recommended for anyone traveling to a different country. The SHC Travel Medicine department has in-depth knowledge about travel medicine and vaccines. They’re prepared to provide you with the latest health information and immunization services for your trip. A consultation appointment is recommended 4-6 weeks in advance of your trip. Your initial consultation can be a virtual appointment, followed by an in-person visit for any vaccines and prescriptions.
Make a Plan for Your Prescriptions
If you’re studying at an NYU global site, plan ahead to make sure all your prescription medications (including birth control) ares available to you while you’re traveling.
Where are you headed?
