On-Campus Housing Application and Reservation Payment
Freshmen who are interested in living on campus may submit the $1000 housing reservation payment when they accept their offer of admission for the Spring semester. The housing application will be available on October 15th. Both the application and housing reservation payment must be received by November 17th in order to guarantee housing placement.
While new spring transfer students are not guaranteed housing, we have historically had success in extending housing offers. The non-renewable (non-guaranteed) housing application will be available on October 15th, and must be received by November 17th. A $1000 housing reservation payment will be required when a housing guarantee is extended.
Financial Aid Award Acceptance
For students offered federal financial aid, such as loans or work study, you will be able to accept them on your Albert Student Center starting this month (date varies by student). Any grant or scholarships that you may have been awarded will already be accepted on your behalf. The Office of Financial Aid will send an email to your NYU email address when it is time to begin the financial aid acceptance process. If you have questions about your financial aid, please call the Office of Financial Aid at 212-998-4444 and speak with a financial aid counselor anytime during business hours.
Submit I-20 / DS-2019 Application
For new international students, the Office of Global Services (OGS) strongly recommends that applications be filed at least three months prior to intended NYU start date in case of visa delays or security checks for administrative processing at U.S. consulates abroad.

Getting your NYU student ID, known on campus as your NYUCard, is now easier than ever. Visit photoid.nyu.edu to submit a photo that meets the requirements listed online, then keep an eye on your NYU email for details and next steps from the Card Center team. When your photo is approved, they will let you know when and how to pick up your NYUCard when you arrive on campus.
Health Insurance Enrollment Change or Waiver Available
Most students are automatically enrolled in an NYU-sponsored Student Health Insurance Plan. If spring is your first semester at NYU, you can use the online process to change the plan option or to waive out of the NYU plan. You are eligible to waive out of the NYU insurance plan if you maintain alternate insurance coverage that meets the University's criteria by going to www.nyu.edu/health/insurance. The spring online enrollment/waiver system becomes available on November 8 and ends on February 10.
