The program offers students an intensive opportunity to further develop their capacity for leadership while supporting the Leadership Initiative’s mission to spark and develop a lifelong practice of ethical and inclusive leadership.
Fellows are a critical part of the Leadership Initiative team. They volunteer and promote public events and gain special access to conversations with prominent leaders. Fellows are required to attend one Leadership Initiative event per semester and volunteer in the creation and promotion of cross-disciplinary communities and spaces for peer learning.
Over the course of the year, fellows will participate in hands-on, interactive workshops to explore leadership frameworks and develop new skills. Workshops will be offered on Friday mornings and will cover topics including understanding leadership, values and purpose; developing a personal narrative; collaboration and teamwork; bridging difference in diverse teams; managing conflict; and leading with integrity.
The program offers a leadership assessment to help fellows understand their leadership strengths and areas for growth. Fellows will work individually with an alumni leader coach to understand their assessment results, identify and make progress on individual leadership development goals.
Fellows will participate in a team challenge to experience the core leadership processes of setting direction, aligning efforts, building commitment and delivering results.
