Sample of Recent Events
- Discussion by Tim Kaine, U.S. Senator from the state of Virginia, and Ralph Northam, Governor of the state of Virginia. They met with students for a dialogue on American politics. Students had the opportunity to ask questions about their careers as well as current political issues.
- Presentation by DeVere Kutscher, Principal at Public Private Strategies. He discussed advocacy efforts, communication strategies and non-profit corporate engagement for small and minority owned businesses.
- Presentation by Shawn Stokes, Director of the Office of Human Resources for Montgomery County Government. She discussed best practices for new talent acquisition, negotiations, and related human resources issues.
- Discussion and presentation by filmmakers from The Video Consortium. Some of the world’s leading video journalists and nonfiction filmmakers co-hosted an evening of LGBTQ+ films and discussion.
- Alumni Receptions and Round Tables
- Volunteer at Martha's Table serving to bring quality education programs, healthy food, and family supports to neighborhoods in the city of Washington.
- Special session on 'Telling Your Global Story' with Sarah Rosenthal, Assistant Director of the Wasserman Center for Career Development.
- Career development workshops on networking, interviewing and elevator pitches, and writing resumes and cover letters.
