The Fall 2018 Students of Color Leadership Retreat (SOCLR) will be Friday, September 28th to Sunday, September 30h at YMCA Frost Valley!

The Students of Color Leadership Retreat (SOCLR) is an opportunity each fall to bring together first-year students of color from across the New York University community for the purpose of their development, empowerment and as an introduction to NYU. Through a social justice framework, guided activities, and opportunities for community building, we hope to achieve the following goals:

SOCLR Goals:
1. Identity exploration and empowerment: we will explore elements of self-awareness, self-care, and leadership.

2. Community development and building: we will work toward understanding and reimagining "community" and building relationships.

3. Examining and analyzing systems: we will make meaning of our experiences by analyzing systems through a social justice lens.
