Testing Policies

Required Alternative Testing Agreement

If a professor prefers the Moses Center staff proctor their exams, they need to complete an Alternative Testing Agreement once per semester for each class they teach. This provides Moses with all the information needed to proctor their exams. The Alternative Testing Agreement can be found in two places:

  1. On the top of the student's Accommodation Letter (if they have alternative testing as an accommodation)
  2. On our instructor portal

An instructional video can be found here.

Once we have this information, the student will then be able to request their exams through the student portal. Students do not have access to the testing portal until we receive a testing agreement from the Instructor. Once an exam request is submitted by the student, an email is sent to the professor asking for confirmation of the details provided by the student.

Once the professor selects the Alternative Testing Agreement, they will also see this message:

To ensure the safety of students, staff, and faculty during the Spring 2022 semester, in-person exams (726 Broadway and 2 Metrotech) will be limited in seating capacity. In light of the COVID-19 variants, the Moses Center will be adhering to NYU and NYC social distancing guidelines regarding capacity for in-person testing. We will be implementing the following policies to ensure the safety of our students and staff:

  • All exams will need to be completed by 9 PM. Evening exams that will go past 9 PM due to extended time will need to be scheduled earlier in the day or on an alternate day/time. To compensate for the shorter testing days, Moses will start administering exams at 7:30 AM. Seating will be provided on a first-come-first-serve basis.
  • When the Moses Center reaches capacity each day, we will be offering the option of Zoom proctoring or rescheduling exams. Please note professor approval is required for either option.
  • Masks are mandatory.

If professors are still interested in utilizing online testing platforms such as Brightspace, Qualtrics, ProctorU, etc, our office is available to assist in setting up and proctoring exams.
