Christopher Brown

In October 2017, Christopher Brown joined Genesys Works as national Vice President. He has been a social impact leader for 20 years most recently as VP of BUILD. He is a member of Leadership Greater Washington/NYC, a Comcast Leadership and Distinguished Alumni Awardee. He will be based in DC.

Chris was previously BUILD's current Director of Strategic Initiatives and former Vice President of Regional Management & Growth. As VP, Chris managed regional operations and fundraising efforts plus served as a member of the Senior Management Team & the National Executive Team. Prior to joining BUILD's national office, Chris was the Regional Executive Director for BUILD: Metro DC.

Before joining BUILD, Chris served as Project Manager for College Summit’s research and development team at the national headquarters. Chris also served as Program Director for the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship New York Metro office. In 2001, he launched the social enterprise Youth Action in Johannesburg South Africa. Chris was also a founding staff member for City Year Washington DC and an AmeriCorps member at City Year Boston.

Chris was an NYU Reynolds Graduate Fellow in Social Entrepreneurship at NYU, during which time he also taught entrepreneurship in Long Island City Queens. A graduate of Valparaiso University, Chris was awarded the Distinguished Young Alumni Award, is a Comcast National Leadership Award Winner, a Coro Leadership New York and Leadership Greater Washington member.
