From Fear to Focus: Race in America and the Urgency of Now
Presented by: The NYU Reynolds Program, NYU Steinhardt, Focus for Health and BMe Community
February 15, 2017
6:30 - 8:00pm Tishman Auditorium, Vanderbilt Hall 40 Washington Square South
The construct of race continues to have a defining impact on the idea of America. From her heritage of slavery and the genocide of her native peoples, through the slow and hopefully continuing arc that bends towards greater justice, America has yet to honestly come to terms with herself. The recent attention on longstanding biases in policing and the new administration's oppressive worldview beg Dr. King's warning, "We are confronted with the fierce urgency of now." Join us for a candid conversation from some of the most cutting edge thinkers working tirelessly to help build a stronger and more truly United States of America.
Join the conversation now! Sign up and join us in the From Fear to Focus L2O community to get and share cutting-edge content on this issue and network with our growing community of participants. Like the Speaker Series events, this group is free and open to the public.
