From all of us at New York University, we thank you for reaching out during this unprecedented time in support of grantees. Your message of assurance, offer of flexibility and commitment to working collaboratively while we at NYU continually monitor, assess and adapt to the impacts of COVID-19 on our students, researchers and faculty conducting research, teaching, training and serving the public is very much appreciated.

Effective March 23, NYU made the difficult decision to suspend all but critical research activities taking place in University facilities and laboratories. This decision was made with considerable deliberation in order to protect the health of the NYU community, check the spread of COVID-19, and to comply with Governor Cuomo’s directive that all non-essential employees not report to work in person.  NYU’s research community is conducting non-essential research remotely to the fullest extent possible with all university administrative offices functioning remotely in steadfast support of their efforts.

NYU’s Office of Sponsored Programs is coordinating with Investigators and their teams to determine the extent to which this unexpected and extraordinary circumstance that resulted in a disruption to NYU’s research operations will impact their project. We will be in touch with your program officer and grants management staff in the event project timelines, scope or budgets require adjustment as soon as possible but not later than once research operations are fully restored at NYU.

In the interim, if should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us at osp.agency@nyu.edu or at 212-998-2121.

With sincere thanks for your concern and continued support and wishes for your safety and continued good health,

Nancy Daneau
Associate Vice Provost for Research
