La Defense

La Defense Residence Hall

The Rose De Cherbourg residence designed by world-renowned French architect Jean Nouvel (Abu Dhabi Louvre Museum, Paris Philharmonic Hall) was opened in Fall 2018; NYU Paris students were among the first residents of this brand new building. The residence is located in the neighborhood of La Défense, a vibrant business district located on the western edge of the greater Paris area, and only a 5 min walk from the iconic Grande Arche de la Défense and the Gare de La Défense metro station.

The area is a home to many businesses, shopping malls, cinemas, restaurants, sports facilities, and the new U Arena, the largest concert hall in Europe. This lively neighborhood hosts many events all year long and boasts international works of art, including pieces by Calder, Mirò, César, Richard Serra. La Défense is on a direct train line to the center of Paris and all major sights, and one stop away from the Bois de Boulogne park and Neuilly-sur-Seine, one of the most elegant cities on the outskirts of Paris.

NYU Paris students share this residence with local undergraduate and graduate students.

This NYU dedicated residence, situated in a safe and quiet residential area of 13th arrondissement, was fully refurbished in summer 2023. It offers all the conveniences of independent living, full NYU supervision, and exclusive NYU student led events.

Costs - Fall 2023/Spring 2024*

Students who live in the residences will be charged in US dollars by semester through the NYU Bursar Office on their NYU E-bill. Scholarships and aid awards in excess of tuition and fees will credit against the cost of housing. Payments are to be made to the University Bursar in the e-suite online payment tool.

Should you cancel your study away term, be aware of the published cancellation fee schedule that outlines important deadlines and applicable fees.
