You will have access to a pre-departure orientation and materials prior to departure.
Upon acceptance into the NYU Study Away Program, you will receive a number of mailings from the Office of Global Programs in New York. These mailings include information about insurance, passports, visas and more. The mailings also include a Housing Form, a Foreign Travel Release Form, a Medical History and Release Form, a Health and Accident Insurance Coverage Form and an Arrival Form. All forms must be completed and returned to the Office of Global Programs in New York by the dates posted in the individual mailings.
Orientation in New York
Upon arrival, you'll attend a student orientation to give you a sense of your new home city. At orientation, you'll find out about various offices and programs that are available to you, how to navigate both NYU's campuses and the city, and meet faculty and staff. Campus and neighborhood tours and weekend outings will offer you a way to become familiar with your surroundings. Orientation is intended to equip you with a set of tools to help you acclimate to new experiences you will have during your semester in New York.
