Cost and Budgeting
Note: This information applies to NYU Abu Dhabi and NYU Shanghai students considering a semester in New York. Students from other colleges and universities who are interested in enrolling as a visiting student at NYU's campus in New York should consider programs hosted by NYU's Office of University Programs.
Figure includes tuition for full-time student status covering 12-18 points and required registration fees, and several program activities and excursions. For each point taken in excess of 18 points in a semester, there is an additional charge.

Students participating in this program are required to live in NYU housing. Please note that costs may differ based on the student's room type. NYU does all it can to keep housing costs low while maintaining the high quality of services and facilities we provide. Please note that cancellation fees may apply and students should check On Campus Living for deadlines and prices. The following price estimate is based on the 2018-2019 year, prices are subject to change.
Students will receive a bill from the Bursar's Office for tuition and housing charges that have been posted to their student account. Students who have not yet been assigned at the time of billing are sent an estimated housing charge. The actual housing charge will be reflected on the student's offical housing assignment notice. Charges may be higher or lower depending on the assignment made.

For students who have a meal plan, costs vary based on choice of plan. Otherwise the estimated costs below are for those living in an NYU residential hall and providing their own meals.
Students planning to travel extensively outside the program parameters on weekends and holidays should budget accordingly. With the exception of tuition, all costs are estimated and may vary depending on the student's budget.

NYU’s Electronic billing system is the official means of generating tuition bills for all enrolled students. One month prior to the term billing due date, students will receive a message at their official NYU e-mail address notifying them that a bill for tuition, fees, and housing is now available. This is usually 60 days before the term start date.
