You will receive your rooming assignment as soon as possible after housing applications close, and no later than 2 weeks prior to the start of the semester. All freshmen are assigned to Byron Court. If you have confirmed a request to live with someone, we will do our best to accommodate this, but we are unable to share roommate information due to Data Protection laws. You can use the residence Facebook groups to find your future roommates.

Changing Assignment

We encourage students to make the most of their housing assignment, however, if you would like to change your assignment before arriving, please send a request to nyul.students@nyu.edu and we will do our best to accommodate this. However, please remember that we a limited number of each room type and it may not always be possible for us to accommodate you in your preferences. Assignments will be reviewed until 1 week prior to arrival; a room move freeze will be in place thereafter until the second Monday of classes.

Checking in and out

You can check in any time after 8am on arrival day for the Spring and Fall semesters. The full address of your residence can be found in the email detailing your assignment.

Housing is strictly only available from the arrival day onwards, and until the departure day given, to allow us time to clean and prepare rooms for incoming j-term and summer groups. If you plan to be in London outside of these times, you will unfortunately have to find alternative accommodation options. There is, however, luggage storage facility at Byron Court; information regarding luggage storage after the end of the Spring and Fall semester will be sent out to all students in the lead up to checkout.

If you are a full year student, you can leave your belongings in your room during the winter break if you receive the same housing assignment for the Spring semester; you will receive an email towards the end of the semester with more detail.
