Zero Waste Week - November 9-16, 2017

Zero Waste Challenge Kick-off
6:30-8pm | 5 Washington Place, Room 101

Hear speakers, Sam Silver, Education & Outreach Coordinator for Sims Municipal Recycling; and Emily Genser, Procurement Analyst at Blue Apron, discuss how product packaging impacts waste streams and the ways in which companies can take responsibility and give consumers options in what they choose to buy or choose to refuse. This event also kicks off the Zero Waste Challenge. Join the challenge and tow your own trash for one week.

Tour of Action Carting
8am-1pm | Meet in front of 740 Broadway
Ever wonder where our mixed recyclables go and how they are sorted? Come tour our carter's Material Recovery Facility and learn about the process. RSVP here.

Zero Waste Art Contest Reception
5-7pm | Kimmel Center, Commuter Lounge, 2nd Fl
This exhibit features pieces of artwork created by members of the NYU community, that provide a visual commentary on waste and/or uses recycled materials. Come by during the opening reception or throughout the week. The submission period is now closed. Learn more.

EarthMatters Club Meeting on Plastics Pollution

Come for a film screening of Plastic Paradise and discussion on the impacts of plastics on the environment and the health of humans and animals.
