The Department of Public Safety (DPS) is the central repository for valuables found by members of the NYU community. Our Property Control function keeps items safe and secure and we proactively work to return belongings to their owners in a prompt manner when feasible.

If you have lost an item or been told that DPS has possession of your item, please call us at 212.998.1305 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays or email us anytime at lost.found@nyu.edu for assistance.

If you find a lost item in an NYU facility, please turn the item into a uniformed NYU Public Safety Officer or bring the item directly to the lobby at 7 Washington Place during business hours, or 561 LaGuardia Place after hours.
