Updated: June 11

Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, our new public health guidelines provided us with an opportunity to care for one another and keep each other safe.  To help support students in understanding and complying with these extensive and evolving new guidelines, NYU launched the Public Health Ambassadors program, through which more than 200 trained students were present and visible throughout campus during the 2020–2021 academic year.

NYU’s Public Health Ambassadors are committed to doing the following:

  • Encourage behavior by being visible and positive role models
  • Answer questions about public health guidelines and share resources when appropriate
  • Offer masks and hand sanitizers to community members
  • Notice needs and patterns on campus so NYU staff members can better understand (and respond to) public health needs
