Your well-being is very much on our minds, and maintaining your safety and the health of everyone in the NYU community is a shared responsibility; we must all work together to keep each other safe.

Quarantine

In New York, local law requires all visitors traveling from outside the country or from restricted states to quarantine for two weeks upon arrival.

Quarantining requires staying inside quarantine quarters for the duration of the period with very limited exceptions, such as accessing medical care. Going for walks, shopping at the grocery store, and using public transportation are not permitted.

Testing

You will not be permitted to enter NYU buildings until you receive a negative test result and are cleared by the COVID-19 Prevention & Response Team.

Students living in NYU residence halls

You are required to submit a Binx saliva test kit upon arrival at your residence hall.

Step 1: Pick Up Your Kit
You should pick up your kit and return it to your Residence Hall Resource Center on the day of your move-in. You will not be permitted to enter NYU non-residential buildings until you receive a negative test.

Step 2: Activate Your Kit

Step 3: Collect Your Sample

Step 4: Return Your Kit

Step 5: Upload Your Test Results

Students NOT living in NYU residence halls

You are required to submit a Binx saliva test kit within 14 days prior to your arrival on the NYU campus.

Step 1: Pick Up Your Kit
You should pick up your test kit from the Skirball Center for the Performing Arts, 566 LaGuardia Place (closed Oct 23-Nov 2; visit Bonomi Family Admissions Center, 27 W. 4th Street instead) or 2 Washington Square Village (lobby). These locations will allow you to pick up a test kit even though your NYU ID card is not activated yet. You can pick up your first kit at any time – you do not need to follow the designated weekly schedule.

If you can not pick up a test kit in-person (if you do not live locally or if you spent time in a restricted state or international country and are required to quarantine), please complete this form to have a kit mailed to you.
