Dear Students at NYU Berlin, London, Madrid, Paris, and Prague and their Parents and Guardians,

Returning Home: NYU’s expectation is that you will now return home. We do understand that a few of you will not have another viable alternative, so please be in touch with your student life team as soon as possible if you have such a pressing circumstance. Students who must remain will likely be asked to switch residence halls in order to make it possible for us to provide you with basic services during this complicated period.

Housing Refunds: We know that many of you have inquired about your housing costs should you depart early. We are writing to confirm that the University will be refunding a pro-rated portion of the cost of housing to all students living in University-arranged housing in Berlin, London, Madrid, Paris, and Prague. In order to receive this refund, we expect you to depart from your site no later than Friday, March 20, 2020.

We will have additional information on the refunds coming soon. As our first priority is to get you home, please do not delay your departure to wait for this information – rest assured, we will provide you with an update soon.

Health Requirements for Travelers: As you prepare to depart for home, it is critical that you familiarize yourself with any regulations regarding steps you may need to take once you arrive. As an example, at this time, anyone entering the United States from Europe must self-isolate for a period of 14 days.

Once again, we are grateful for your resiliency, flexibility, and partnership as we navigate these complicated times together.

Thank you,
