Dear Employee,

I am writing to you to express my deep concern that you missed the deadline to upload proof that you complied with NYU’s booster requirement.

The University believes a booster vaccination is a vital public health measure for the safety of the NYU community; I very much agree. More than that, I see getting the booster as part of the responsibility we have to help keep one another healthy in the face of the pandemic. The vast majority of NYU students and employees have already uploaded — myself included — making your situation something of a troubling outlier.

If you do not comply with the booster requirement right away, the University will impose consequences, including prohibiting you from entering any NYU facility other than your workplace, restricting you from participating in any NYU events or gatherings, and forbidding you from eating in any NYU facility. In addition, you will have to test weekly. If more than seven days pass without a negative test, you will be unable to access even your own workplace. Remote work will not be considered a substitute.

I value all the employees in our community and believe every one of them contributes to the vibrancy of our environment; I don’t want to see anyone sanctioned or excluded from the full life of our community.

It’s very important to me and all your colleagues that you get the booster if you haven’t already done so and upload proof right away. Please don’t wait any longer. And if there’s an issue, please be in touch with your supervisor right away and let’s try to get things sorted out and on track.

With genuine concern,

NYU Senior Leadership
