Dear Student,

We hope that you and all the people in your life are safe and healthy and we look forward to the upcoming semester. We have important information to share with you about scheduling your COVID-19 diagnostic test or tests.

Important Information about Testing Locations and Scheduling an Appointment

All NYU students must complete any quarantine and testing requirements and be cleared by the NYU COVID-19 Prevention & Response Team before you will be allowed to begin in-person classes and access any non-residential NYU buildings.

To facilitate testing, NYU has arranged for on-campus testing to be conducted in Manhattan and Brooklyn over the next several weeks. Current testing dates and locations include:

Gould Plaza (40 West 4th Street, New York, NY 10002)

  • August 17-21
  • August 25-27
  • August 31-Sept 1

MetroTech Gym (6 MetroTech Center, Brooklyn, NY 11201)

  • August 18-19
  • August 26

Testing is by appointment only; you may not walk in without an appointment. You can now schedule an appointment for the week of August 17 here.

Scheduling for subsequent days listed above will open approximately 6 days before the testing date.

Unless you are moving into NYU Housing on August 18th or 19th, you are not required to use the NYU Center. You may also be tested locally at various testing sites in the tri-state area:

If you get tested at a location other than the NYU Testing Center, please upload your results as soon as possible to ensure no delays in your ability to access NYU buildings.

Students who are taking all classes remotely and are not in NYU housing and will not be coming to campus at all and will not be interacting with members of the NYU community do not need to be tested.
