As you know, NYU is requiring you to be fully vaccinated before you return to campus for fall classes, and to upload proof of your COVID-19 vaccination. We also want to make you aware of additional guidance and requirements for returning to campus in the Fall.

Updated Vaccination Requirement, including NYU Study Away Sites

All NYU students — in the United States and at all NYU Study Away sites — are required to be fully vaccinated with an FDA-authorized or WHO-listed COVID-19 vaccine as a condition of having access to NYU buildings (residential and non-residential) for the 2021–22 academic year.

Deadline for Uploading Proof of Vaccination

Because each upload is individually reviewed by NYU health personnel, it is also vital for us to get proof of your vaccination early enough so that everyone can be cleared by the start of NYU Welcome, Fall activities, classes, and Move-in Day (for residential students). So, we are setting a deadline of July 19, 2021 to upload your proof of vaccination.

You Can Upload Proof of Vaccination As Soon As You Receive Your Final Vaccine Dose

You can upload your proof of vaccination as soon as you have received the final dose of your FDA- authorized or WHO-listed vaccine (eg: the second dose of Moderna or Pfizer or Sinopharm, the first dose of Johnson & Johnson); you do NOT need to wait the additional two weeks until you are fully vaccinated to upload your proof of vaccination. The earlier you upload, the better.

You can find instructions for uploading your proof of vaccination here.

COVID-19 Vaccination Timeline

International Students Who Cannot Access FDA-Authorized or WHO-Listed Vaccines

We recognize that some international students will have difficulty or even be altogether unable to get access to FDA-authorized or WHO-listed vaccines, or may be unable to do so in time to have their proof of vaccination uploaded by July 19.

We are prepared for this contingency for those students studying in the US. Rest assured that we will be able to arrange for students in this situation to be vaccinated and meet NYU’s COVID-19 vaccination requirements after their arrival.

For students planning to study at one of NYU's global locations outside of the US, we will do whatever we can to enable you to be vaccinated upon arrival, but there may be countries where, due to local restrictions and constraints on vaccine supply, this simply isn't possible.

Additional detailed guidance related to vaccinations and potential quarantine requirements for those who are located outside of the United States and are unable to complete their vaccinations prior to arrival will be shared soon.

Conclusion

If you aren’t vaccinated yet, it is essential that you get vaccinated as soon as possible.

If you completed all doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, submit your proof of vaccination as soon as possible and no later than July 19, 2021.

If you are an international student who does not have access to an FDA-authorized or WHO-listed vaccine, look out for additional guidance shortly.
