I hope your spring semester is proceeding well, and that you are taking good care of yourselves.

We are making two changes to our COVID-19-related practices of which you should be aware.

BioReference Testing Will Cease This Week

Against the backdrop of more readily available COVID-19 testing, NYU will close its BioReference test center on West 4th St. at the end of the day on Friday, February 10, 2023.

Members of the community should still test when they experience the symptoms of COVID-19 and if you test positive for COVID-19, you may complete the COVID-19 Reporting Form for general guidance.

Ending the Use of “Violet Go” for Building Entry

Having achieved very high rates of vaccination among students and employees, we have decided to end the use of “Violet Go”; after Friday, February 10, members of the community will not be required to display “Violet Go” to enter an NYU building.

The discontinuation of “Violet Go” does not alter NYU’s COVID-19 vaccination requirements for students and employees. Compliance is still required, and failure to comply will subject students and employees to sanctions, up to and including de-enrollment for students.

Quick Reminder

Remember our guidance on the way to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and other respiratory illnesses:

  • Get a COVID-19 booster, if you’re eligible
  • Get the flu shot; it’s not too late
  • Masks are always welcome around NYU
  • Stay home if you’re sick
