Dr. Carlo Ciotoli, Exec. Lead, COVID-19 Prevention & Response Team

Earlier this week, you received an email about upcoming changes to building access changes for NYU employees who have not complied with the University’s vaccination requirement.

In that message, we explained that, beginning Monday, August 16, employees who have not complied with the University’s vaccination requirements but who have a recent negative COVID-19 test result will see a yellow “PASS” screen on the Daily Screener. If you are an employee who is out of compliance with the University’s vaccination requirements, here is what you need to know about your building access, starting next Monday, August 16. Failure to comply with the policies and protocols described below may result in disciplinary action.

Yellow “PASS” Screen Indicates Limited Access to Certain Buildings and Areas

Employees with a yellow “PASS” screen should NOT ENTER any of the following buildings, unless they must perform work there. Those noncompliant employees who do work in the buildings listed below should be prepared to confirm with the Campus Safety Officer stationed there that a business need requires their presence in the building:

  • Bobst
  • Kimmel
  • 404 Lafayette
  • Lipton
  • Palladium
  • Weinstein

The University will audit access records of the buildings listed above to ensure that only those employees with yellow “PASS” screens who require access are entering those buildings. Those with a yellow “PASS” are prohibited from entering lounges, break rooms, and other common areas within the buildings where they work.

Wear a Mask

All employees, regardless of vaccination status, must wear a mask at all times when they are inside any of the University’s buildings (except their personal residence if they live on campus).

No Eating in NYU Buildings

For the safety of other community members, employees who have not complied with the University’s vaccination requirements are not permitted to eat inside any of the University’s buildings (except their personal residence if they live on campus).

Comply with the University’s Ongoing Testing Requirements

NYU employees not fully in compliance with the University’s vaccination requirements must obtain a negative COVID-19 PCR test result within the seven days before coming to campus through the University's ongoing testing program. If you let more than seven days pass since your most recent test result, you will not be able to pull up the Daily Screener, and you will not be permitted to enter any NYU building.

Maintain Physical Distancing

Community members who are unvaccinated should, to the extent possible, maintain physical distancing, both for their safety and that of their fellow NYUers.

If you have already uploaded your proof of vaccination, you can disregard this message.
