Dear Student,

We are writing to you because NYU’s records reflect that you live in student housing but have not uploaded proof of your required COVID-19 booster shot.

The deadline to do so is next Tuesday, January 18, 2022.

NYU views receiving the booster shot as a vital public health measure for the safety of the NYU community, particularly so in a residential setting. If you are not in compliance with the requirement by the deadline, you will begin facing a number of serious consequences next week, including:

  • Losing access to NYU academic buildings, and being unable to attend your classes that meet in person
  • Losing access to your University housing
  • Ultimately being de-enrolled from your courses with no guarantee of being able to re-enroll in those same courses later if you eventually upload proof of your booster.

To avoid these kinds of serious consequences, we urge you in the strongest possible terms to bring yourself into compliance immediately. If you have already received the booster shot, upload it right away. If you haven’t received your booster yet, schedule it right away through NYU or another provider and upload the proof immediately after receiving the shot.

If you are ineligible to receive a booster because insufficient time has passed since your original vaccination(s) or there is some other compelling reason, please contact the Student Health Center at

If you are an international student and will be arriving after January 24 for any reason, please be sure to notify the Office of Global Services by completing a late arrival form.

We want everyone to avoid the consequences of non-compliance; we hope everyone acts quickly to comply with the booster requirement. Thank you for your swift attention to this.

PS: If you believe you have received this email in error because you have already uploaded, please remember that it takes 2-3 days for your uploaded proof to be verified by someone on the Immunization Team. Please wait 4-5 days after you upload and check your status by logging into the Student Health Center Portal, making your way to the page with your name, and looking for “immunizations” in the navigation column on the left. If you see the date of your booster shot in your immunization history, then you are all set, and you will shortly stop receiving these reminder emails. If you do not see the date of your booster shot in your immunization history, something has gone awry with your upload.
