Events, Meetings, and Gatherings
Updated: September 22
PLEASE NOTE: Effective Wednesday, September 28, NYU will be lifting many existing COVID-19 protocols regarding masking, eating and drinking, testing, and performing arts practices. This page will be updated to reflect these changes. Please see the September 23rd announcement for the most current information.
Bringing groups together in person is a hallmark of a vibrant academic community. NYU has lifted most restrictions on meetings, events, and informal gatherings.
However, all University-sponsored events, meetings, and gatherings—on or off campus—must comply with NYU’s COVID-19 policies, requirements, and procedures including:
- Vaccination requirement
- Use of Violet Go; only students and employees with violet passes are permitted to participate in discretionary events, meetings, or gatherings
- Visitor, Vendor, and Affiliate Access Request procedures
- Masking policy
- Eating and drinking guidance
- Travel Policy
If your event includes visitors, vendors, and affiliates who may be unfamiliar with NYU’s vaccination requirement, please plan ahead to ensure all attendees are in compliance in time for your event regardless of whether it’s on or off-campus.
If your event is off campus, you must comply both with venue-specific guidance and NYU-specific requirements. If there is a difference, you must comply with the stricter requirements.
