Be sure to return your completed kit at a drop-off location, during open hours, and on the same day you collected your sample.

Register Your Account

The first time you submit a kit, you must register your account before you activate your kit.

You must use your NYU Net ID email address (ex: abc123@nyu.edu) when you register. This will ensure your test results are correctly connected to your account.

Activate Each Kit

You must activate your kit every time you submit a kit.

Having trouble? In order to activate your kit and register your account you need to enter all your information correctly. Please check you to be sure your NetID@nyu.edu email, your date of birth, and your N# are correct. Typing any of these incorrectly will result in an error message below the email address field.

Carefully opened Binx test kit bag

Carefully open your test kit. Do not rip the bag because you will need to use it to return your sample.

Collect Your Sample

You must collect your saliva sample on the same day that you return your test kit. Included in your kit is an instruction leaflet that will guide you through each step in detail. Please follow these instructions carefully.

A few key important considerations:

  • Be sure to carefully open your kit. Do not tear the package. You will need it to return your sample.
  • Spitting could conceivably transmit coronavirus, so please collect your saliva sample when you are alone in your own room.
  • Do not eat or drink anything for 30 minutes prior to collecting your saliva sample. Do it before having coffee, eating breakfast, or brushing your teeth — or wait until you haven’t consumed anything in the prior 30 minutes.

Be sure to follow the instructions leaflet found within your kit.

Avoid Delays With Your Kit

To avoid having your kit delayed or rejected, make sure you're following these tips to collect your sample and submit your kit properly.

Test Results

It takes a few days for your kit to be mailed to the lab. You should receive your results 24-48 hours after the lab receives your kit.

Test results are automatically transmitted to the NYU COVID-19 Prevention & Response Team as well. You do not need to upload or email your results.
