Graduation

NYU confers degrees three times a year: in January (Fall Conferral), May (Spring Conferral), and September (Summer Conferral). Commencement ceremonies are held once a year in May. To be eligible to graduate, you must complete all the requirements for your specific degree.

Get Ready: Graduation Checklist

As you prepare to finish your degree, there are a few steps you need to complete to make sure the process goes smoothly. 

Log onto NYU Albert (under the Academics Tab) to: 

NOTE: If you are an international student, check the Office of Global Services’ website for more important information on preparing for life after graduation. 

Paper and Electronic Diplomas

Approximately 8 weeks after you graduate we will mail your diploma to the permanent address listed in your NYU Albert account. To choose a different address, please log in and update your delivery address.

We can also help you to request an electronic diploma or order a replacement diploma. 

Graduation Honors

Your academic achievement during your time at New York University may qualify you to be recognized with an honors designation when you graduate.

Each school has its own criteria to determine whether a student graduates with honors. Be sure to check the requirements associated with your degree.
