Schedule a 3D Print Service appointment for job order drop-off by contacting us by email or phone, and specify available dates with time frames per date.

At your appointment, please have your model file(s) on a thumbdrive as either .STL or .OBJ.

During your appointment you will work one-on-one with an LGS staff member to verify your model file(s) for printing. If file corrections are required those details will be reviewed with you so that you can make the necessary adjustments to your files. An additional appointment may be required for job order drop-off.

Once your model file(s) are verified for printing, you will be given a quote for printing charges and your job order will be submitted into our production queue.  You will receive notice by e-mail when your parts are printed and through the required post-process cleaning steps. Payment is required in full at the time of job order pick-up. Please see details for payment terms.

Not all Fortus materials have dissolvable support so it is important to consider part design for post-process cleaning success. Some materials have break-away support and the geometry design may make support removal difficult or impossible.

It is important to consider the orientation of printed parts ahead of printing to help minimize surface texture that has potential to affect critical areas of the prints. This includes down-facing surfaces or geometry that requires a specified mechanical tolerance. Surfaces under 1mm in thickness may break, particularly thin edges.

Tolerances vary based on tip and prototyping is recommended, especially for fit testing. Small sections of parts, including closures, hinges, threading and seating, should be tested for proof of concept, functionality and fit ahead of the larger and more expensive final print runs.

Higher resolution prints take longer for job order turn-around, so it is important to build additional time into your production plan.

It is important to prototype material options ahead of final printing to determine the material best suited for your production needs. This will cut down job order expense and eliminate the requirement for reprint corrections.
