WIT Speaker Series: Renee Zaugg


Renee Zaugg is the Managing Owner of RisERZ Consulting. Renee is a strategic leader with 40 years of experience working in technology leadership roles for Fortune 100 companies. She is passionate about intentional leadership and creating higher purpose cultures. Watch Renee’s keynote speech and enjoy her nuggets of wisdom.

WIT Speaker Series: Minerva Tantoco

Stacie Bloom, Vice Provost for Research and Chief Research Officer and WIT Co-Sponsor introduced the keynote speaker, Minerva Tantoco, Chief AI Officer at the McSilver Institute. Minerva is the former Chief Technology Officer of New York City, an innovator, patent holder and entrepreneur committed to using technology to improve the lives of others. Minerva shared her career journey, sources of inspiration, and her perspectives on the role of technology in advancing inclusivity and diversity in our society. The keynote speech was followed by the announcement that WIT will launch the Bauer Outreach Program to honor and remember Dr. Frances Bauer. This program will raise awareness and stimulate interest in STEM among elementary school students, especially those in underserved communities in New York City.

WIT Presents: Women Pioneering the Future 

WIT’s spring leadership panel discusses innovation, new technologies, research and learning analytics, and future jobs in STEM fields. The panel features the following inspiring women working in STEM positions from across NYU: Maaike Bouwmeester, De Angela Duff, Stacie Grossman Bloom, Natalie Hidalgo, Elizabeth McAlpin, and Lillian Moran.


WIT Presents: Mindfulness with Melissa Carter   


Melissa Carter, Senior Director for Global Spiritual Life at NYU and the head of Mindfulness Education and Programming for MindfulNYU, lead WIT members and friends through a mindfulness exercise to kick off the new year.  

WIT Fall 2021 Keynote: Kitty Bridges

Kitty Bridges is NYU IT’s Interim Chief Information Security Officer, Global Office of Information Security (GOIS), and up until November 1, the Interim Chief Information Officer. She has been at NYU since 2007, initially joining to design the University’s primary data center. She has been responsible for several areas while at NYU including User & Global Support, Digital Accessibility, Information Security, Communications, Strategic Planning, and Service Delivery & Management.

In this seminar led by Dr. Jasmine Escalera, she explained how to optimize your LinkedIn presence, network with ease, and utilize the platform’s learning opportunities to level up your skills and showcase your expertise.
Dr. Escalera is a certified career and life coach who help her clients focus on gaining clarity around their careers, beating self-doubt, and building confidence.

Designing Our Future Worlds: A UX & Accessibility Workshop with NYU Professor Regine Gilbert

In this workshop we identified what accessibility means in relation to our world today and what that might look like to our future selves.
Regine Gilbert is a user experience designer, educator, and author. Regine’s 2019, book, ‘Inclusive Design for a Digital World: Designing with Accessibility in Mind (Design Thinking)' was released through Apress publishing.
