NYU Tech Standards for Faculty and Staff

Last updated: November 2022

Technology leaders across NYU, via the University CIO Council, in collaboration with NYU IT and NYU Procurement, establish and maintain a set of standards for technical equipment purchased with University-administered funds. These standards account for functional, cybersecurity, and technical requirements and comply with NYU’s sustainability guidelines and NYU’s Information Technology and Travel and Expense policies.

On this page: General Guidelines | Computers | Monitors | Mobile Devices | Service Warranty Information

General Guidelines

  • All computers and monitors must be procured through NYU i-Buy
  • Before making a purchase, please check with your respective School IT department in case School-specific standards are available
  • Purchasing non-standard equipment requires the approval of a department VP and Fiscal Officer
  • Please check this page periodically as standards or recommendations may change
