We offer transition programs as a part of the fall NYU Welcome experience for new students - Commuter Crew, Transfer Pre-Orientation Program (TPOP), Project OutReach, and International Student Transition Program (ISTP). These transition programs are open to all new undergraduate students and aim to build connections within a community.
Registration will open in the summer.
Commuter Crew (CC)
Commuter Crew is a program designed to welcome incoming, first year, undergraduate commuters students. During CC, you'll learn about various university resources, and have the opportunity to meet your student peer leaders, the Commuter Assistants, as well as other first year commuter students. These connections will positively impact your NYU experience and help ease your transition into college.
Transfer Pre-Orientation Program (TPOP)
The Transfer Pre-Orientation Program (TPOP) is designed to welcome incoming undergraduate transfers students to NYU. During TPOP, you'll learn about various university resources, and have the opportunity to meet your student peer leaders, the Transfer Student Ambassadors (TSAs), as well as other incoming transfer students. We understand that transferring into a new school and a new city can sometimes be daunting - we hope you use TPOP as an opportunity to get to know NYU and to get excited for the Fall Semester.
Project OutReach is a pre-orientation program for incoming first year and transfer students to join in a service and civic engagement prior to NYU Welcome. Participants and peer mentors gather for daily reflection sessions, build a tight community through days of service, and contribute to local non-profits.
International Student Transition Program (ISTP)
The International Student Transition Program (ISTP) is an immersive experience for incoming first-year undergraduate international students to get a jumpstart to the year; build community and make friends, be introduced to NYU resources, and learn about their new home, New York City. This program is hosted by the International Student Center and Office of Global Services.
