Advisement and Course Registration

As a new NYU student, you will work with an academic advisor at your school who will help craft a schedule that fits your interests and goals while meeting your school's requirements. You will meet with your advisor during orientation and work together throughout your time at NYU. To find contact information for your advisor, please visit the Undergraduate Advisement website.

Albert Academic Planner is an easy tool that provides you and your advisor the ability to plan the courses you need from your first term through graduation. Academic Planner is for planning purposes only, and you should always speak with your advisor for additional guidance and approvals.

When will I hear from my advisor?

While there is some variation, students should hear from the advising office by mid-to-late May. This may be from their specific advisor or from the centralized office.

When can I register for my first semester of classes?

While there is some variation, students can register for classes in mid-June.
