Anyone with an NYU netID and an activated NYUHome account can access NYU Box Office's discounted tickets to NYC events. A valid NYU ID or NYU Alumni ID is required for all ticket purchases. 

Anyone!  Once the tickets are purchased by a valid NYU ID-holder and picked up at our box office by the ticket purchaser, anyone can enjoy the show/event.  The NYU ID-holder does not have to be present when the tickets are redeemed.

NYU Box Office is always searching for the lowest prices on tickets available in large quantities so that we can resell them to the NYU community. NYU Box Office neither subsidizes the cost of the tickets to provide a discount to customers, nor do we inflate the price of the tickets to make a profit. The amount of tickets that NYU Box Office obtains from ticket vendors for each offer is based on many factors, such as the popularity of the show within the NYU community, the number of discounted tickets the venue provides, and the price of the tickets. We enforce a ticket limit to ensure that all of the customers who wish to buy tickets have a fair chance of purchasing them.

Many of our ticket prices reflect a significant discount from the original retail price. However, for popular shows that tend to sell out quickly, NYU Box Office purchases and sells tickets at retail value as a service to the NYU community. Tickets are distributed to patrons in the order in which they were purchased online, with the first to purchase tickets receiving the best seats from the allotment of tickets.

The general area of seating for the tickets your purchased is indicated on your email confirmation, if the information is available to us at the time of your purchase.  You will not know your exact seat locations until you pick up your tickets.

We are able to fulfill over 99% of our orders of 2 or more tickets with adjacent seats. 

If you have a specific seating request - such as for an aisle seat, or for two orders to be seated together - you can email boxoffice@nyu.edu and we will do our best to accommodate you.

You do not need to email us to request that seats be together in an order or two orders purchased by the same person.

You must present your valid NYU ID and the credit card you used at the box office window in order to receive your tickets.

In most cases, tickets purchased will not be available for pick-up until we email you to let you know that your tickets are in. Generally, tickets are available for pick-up 1-2 weeks before the event date. However, depending on the nature of the event and their box office staff, it may be the case that your tickets are not available until the week of the event. 

Tickets for NYC Events purchased online must be picked up at the NYU Box office – not at the show’s venue! Your tickets can be picked up at the NYU Box Office during our regular business hours (Tuesday-Saturday, noon-6pm). Please check the NYU Box Office website for holiday hours and summer hours, which are subject to change.

Please do not attempt to pick up your tickets until you've received notice by email that your tickets are at our box office. Tickets must be picked up at the NYU Box office – not at the show’s venue! If you cannot pick up your tickets yourself, we can help you arrange for a proxy to pick up your tickets.  Once you have received email confirmation that your tickets are ready to be picked up, log into NYU Home and submit your proxy request here.

The price printed on your ticket does not necessarily reflect the price that NYU Box Office paid for it.  All tickets are sold to the NYU community at the same price NYU Box Office paid for them. 

All Live NYC Events carry a facility fee per ticket of 10% of the ticket price to cover the shipping and handling charges we pay to the venue and to help defray the expense of the student staff needed prepare ticket orders and student cashiers needed to work at the windows of NYU Box Office.

All web orders carry a service fee of $3 per tickets to help defray the expense of the technology needed to sell these tickets to NYU students and staff.

There are no refunds/exchanges on purchased tickets. These policies are stated during the online purchase process and you clicked on a box to agree to these terms.
However, in many cases we can try to resell your tickets for you if you are not able to use them. You can request that NYU Box Office attempt to resell your tickets for you by submitting our resell request form.
NYU Box Office charges a $5 per ticket resell fee for this service. We will charge you only if we are successful at reselling your tickets.  

In the event that your tickets are lost or stolen, please let us know and we will contact the venue on your behalf to determine next steps.
However, in most cases, the venue will only replace missing tickets if the patron can confirm the seat number/row/section on each ticket.
Therefore, it is good practice to always record this information (by writing it down or taking a photo of your tickets) as soon as you receive your tickets.  NYU Box Office does not keep a record of your seat locations and we cannot provide this information to you should your tickets become lost or stolen.  

AMC/ Loews  Movie vouches can be redeemed in person at the venue or by using their app. Be sure to enter both the 16-digit number and the 12-digit number to select the screening and seats.

United Artists, Edwards, and vouchers can be redeemed at the theater box office, kiosk or via the Regal mobile app.

City Cinema/ Angelika Movie vouches are only be redeemed in person at the venue.

At this time, discounted movie passes are only available to purchase in person at the NYU Box Office during regular box office hours. 

Anyone with a valid NYU ID or Alumni ID can purchase movie passes at NYU Box Office.  A valid NYU ID or NYU Alumni ID must be presented at the box office upon purchase.

Anyone can use the discounted movie passes once they are purchased at NYU Box Office with a valid NYU ID or Alumni Card.  You do not need to be present at the theater upon redemption.  Yes!  You can give them to friends, as gifts, etc.

Yes, the discount movie passes are valid wherever there are branches of the participating theater chains nationwide.

Discount movie passes are generally valid for all movies except for special engagements. However, some passes have restrictions on movies that have been recently released, or that are showing on certain days of the week. The higher the price of the pass, the less restrictions there are on it. The NYU Box Office Movie Pass Menu has lists all of the restrictions associated with each pass.

A single movie pass can only be used once - for one movie ticket.

Prices of movie passes sold at NYU Box Office reflect the cost of the pass plus a 6% - 9% surcharge which reflects the shipping and handling costs of obtaining these tickets from theater vendors and to help defray the cost of the technology used to sell these passes.

All discounted movie tickets carry a facility fee of $1 per ticket to help defray the expense of employing the student cashiers who sell the movie passes at the windows of NYU Box Office.

You will definitely save money if you purchase discounted movie passes! At minimum it costs $16.00 to see a movie in many theatres in Manhattan. The discount movie passes at NYU Box Office range from $9.00 - $10.75, plus an extra $1.00 facility fee. You do the math!

Some participating movie theater chains such as UA/Regal arequire you to pay a $1.50 surcharge at their box office when you redeem the passes at a Manhattan theatre.

There is usually no ticket limit on the amount of discount movie passes that a customer can purchase. However, for orders of 20 or more, we suggest that you fill out and submit a movie pass group order form. We cannot guarantee immediate availability on orders of 50 or more passes - so please order early!

The movie passes available at NYU Box Office never expire.

There are no refunds/exchanges on purchased movie tickets. However, the movie vouchers do not expire.
