The Computer Services department offices are located in the B-level of the Duke House. The department manages all computing and network resources for Institute faculty, staff, and students in the Duke and Chan Houses. Distributed computing resources include the PC lab, Macintosh lab, Conservation Center Digital Media lab, Library Research Stations, and Conservation Center 2R workstations. Access to most of these resources is available to matriculated students.

Student-Accessible Computers at the IFA
The IFA provides on-site shared computing workstations for use by currently enrolled students to augment the main NYU downtown computer labs. The IFA workstations are organized in mini-labs or as library research terminals. The shared computing facilities consist of 15 Windows XP PCs and 8 Apple Macintosh stations. The facilities offer scanning of photographic and transparent media as well as low to mid resolution network printing under the Uniprint print management system.
Basic software packages such as Microsoft Office, Web-browsing software, and Anti-Virus protection are loaded on each station. Imaging software is available on most workstations Library research stations may also have specialized databases loaded. All of the shared computing workstations are connected to the main campus network. For more information on policies and procedures for utilizing the University network please click here.
Uniprint print management system is now being implemented in the IFA computer labs in the Duke House and Conservation Center under a program called IFA Print. IFA Print provides Computer Services the ability to set up managed print queues and individual printer accounts with quotas. Uniprint is currently in use in the Stern Business School Tisch labs and is currently being installed in the ITS labs. Printer accounts will be available to currently matriculated students and research assistants during the each semester.
Entering students' printer accounts will not be activated till after attending Orientation. Please note that the IFA Printing Account is separate from the NYU Email/Internet Account, which you will receive when obtaining your NYU ID card. NYU Email, Files 2.0, NYU Wireless and other services are administered by the Information Technology Services division at NYU.
Instructions for utilizing the IFA Print system in the computer labs are available here [PDF].
