About the 2010 Fund

Your donations are part of a University-wide effort to provide a world-class education to students and give back to Abu Dhabi in a sustainable, holistic, and innovative manner. We hope that graduating classes present and future take this opportunity to reinforce the transformative role of education pioneered by the visionary leaders of the UAE.

This year, your contribution of $20.10 in recognition of NYU Abu Dhabi's inaugural academic year supports two causes:

  • Scholarships for students at NYU New York to study abroad at NYU Abu Dhabi.
  • Student-led community service projects - chosen by the graduating class - in and around Abu Dhabi.

To select the cause you would like to support, please complete the survey on the "thank-you" page after you have made your gift.

2010 Project for 2017: NYU Abu Dhabi English in the Workplace Program

For 2017, the community service portion of the 2010 Fund supports NYU Abu Dhabi's English in the Workplace Program (EWP). Through this initiative, the grant will fund the education of NYU Abu Dhabi contract staff members as well as provide 15 NYU Abu Dhabi students teaching opportunities.

EWP began in the Annual Year (AY) of 2012-2013 as a part of the overarching Adult Education Program organized by the Office of Compliance, the Department of Public Safety, and the Office of Global Education in conjunction with the Eton Institute. The pilot program in AY 12-13 worked with 31 students and was successful enough to increase the EWP class size in AY 13-14 to 116 students, in AY 14-15 to 199 students, and in AY 15-16 to 350 students. The EWP consists of multiple English classes ranging from beginners English all the way to college-credit classes via Coursera. Due to its longevity, growth, and large number of staff reached, the EWP has been a large success.
