Producing Your Own Videos at NYU
Creating Instructional Video Modules in the Digital Studio
Instructional Video Modules is an enhanced service in which faculty work with instructional designers to create short and engaging high quality pieces of video content. A collaboration between NYU IT & Libraries, the Instructional Video Modules service empowers faculty to produce content that can enhance face-to-face interaction between students and faculty. What students learn through modular video content better informs what they learn face-to-face, and vice versa. The student is no longer bound by the pace of the entire classroom of students.
Software-Based Solutions for Personal Computers
Aside from uploading video content, NYU Stream has two built in tools to promote content creation directly within the service itself. These tools include webcam recording, screen capture, and Powtoon Animated Video Tool.
NYU Stream Screen Recording
NYU Stream's screen recording tool, Kaltura Capture, allows all users to record their screen, with or without a picture-in-picture of the presenter. The user can make screen recordings available to viewers in several ways, such as publishing in an NYU Stream Channel or embedding it into NYU Brightspace, or our Web Publishing service powered by WordPress. For more information on this tool please see the article below.
NYU Stream Webcam Recording
NYU Stream's webcam recording tool, Express Capture, allows all users to record video, via webcam, directly into the service. The user can make webcam recordings available to viewers in several ways, such as publishing in an NYU Stream Channel or embedding it into NYU Brightspace, or our Web Publishing service powered by WordPress.
