RE: Fall 2014 NYU Tel Aviv Update

DATE: August 4, 2014

Dear NYU Tel Aviv Advisory Committee Members,

I am writing to inform you that we have decided to suspend courses at NYU Tel Aviv for the fall semester, given the continued violence in Israel and the surrounding areas. As a University, the well-being and safety of our students is of the utmost importance to us and as such, we cannot send them into an area in which we feel they may be at risk. We, of course, also seek to minimize potential disruptions to the academic program.

We have worked with the 10 students who were enrolled for the fall to identify other sites within the global network where they will pursue their studies. We are now assisting them with securing visas and housing as well as providing other logistical support to make this transition as smooth as possible.

We are deeply saddened by the circumstances that have led to this decision. We are hopeful that conditions will improve soon and that we will be able to resume courses at NYU Tel Aviv again for this coming January term and spring semester.

Many thanks again for your continued support during this time. As always, please don't hesitate to be in touch if you have any questions or concerns.
