Office of Global Inclusion, Diversity, and Strategic Innovation Website Refresh
The recently formed Office of Global Inclusion, Diversity, and Strategic Innovation (OGI) at NYU approached the Digital Communications team in search of a complete refresh of its web pages—including new information architecture, redesigned page layouts, and original content. In turn, Digital Communications tapped the Marketing Communications content team for guidance and support in building a content strategy and crafting web copy for these new pages.
Design and implement an intuitive, informative, and comprehensive website, one that increases university-wide awareness of OGI’s presence, optimizes this awareness through insightful and actionable content, and encourages all members of the university community—students, staff, faculty, and alumni—to engage with OGI’s innovative programming, events, and educational opportunities.
The Marketing Communications content team conducted a thorough review of existing OGI-related web content and provided an in-depth analysis of voice-and-tone opportunities to the OGI team. After establishing the need for a voice and tone that are aspirational and uplifting while remaining direct and concise, the team interviewed OGI’s subject matter experts and participated in weekly working meetings to learn the ins and outs of OGI’s mission, values, departments, and goals. Through this active engagement and continued collaboration, the team cultivated a foundation of knowledge that directly informed the development of strategic, on-brand content for more than 30 individual web pages. In addition to a streamlined, user-friendly, and robust website, this project led to the creation of a content strategy document that was delivered to OGI. This document provides the OGI team with a detailed guide for creating content that is on-brand and on message every time.
