The Digital Communications Group is aware of the following issues users have experienced when using certain components in the CMS. This page will be updated as they are resolved.

Post-CMS Upgrade Issues

Please note that you may experience some minor known issues as we complete the upgrade process; these will be resolved shortly.

Authoring Interface

The CMS keeps opening my pages in new windows

  • This is a known issue and will be updated shortly. Keep in mind that until this issue is resolved, when you go to edit a page in the CMS it will open in a new tab.


I can’t apply cell adjustments to the entire row or column

  • To make your cell adjustments apply for an entire row or column, first select the entire row or column you’d like to work edit.
  • Place your cursor anywhere in the appropriate row or column, and then select the option to “Highlight entire row or column” from the editing toolbar or by right-clicking within the cell.
  • After the row or column has been highlighted, navigate to the cell properties menu by selecting the Cell Properties icon from editing toolbar or right-clicking within the cell.
  • Changes you then make to cell properties will be applied to the entire row or column.

CMS Component Issues

Media Player

The custom thumbnail for my DAM video isn't displaying

  • This is a known issue and will be updated shortly. You should also consider using alternative platforms like NYU Stream, Vimeo, and YouTube to host your videos that also offer more flexibility in terms of thumbnails and video analytics.

Photo Gallery

I get an error message when I try to add new images after I've already reordered my gallery

  • At this time users may experience an error when they try to add new images to the Photo Gallery component after they've already reordered images in the gallery.
  • This is a known issue and will be updated.
  • If you experience this issue but are unable to delete your gallery and start over, please call 212-998-3333 or email the IT Service Desk to report the CMS page where this issues is occurring.

Summary List

My external RSS feed isn't populating data

  • At this time not all external RSS feeds are populating data within the Summary List. Until this is resolved, consider using a promo component to link to your external content.
